Day  – Colombo : Kandy

On your arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, a Sri Guide Travels representative will be waiting to meet and greet you. And we will then proceed on our trip to Colombo. When we arrive in Colombo, we will take a sightseeing tour of the city. The Old Fort area, the National Museum of Sri Lanka, Streets of Pettah neighborhood, Gangaramaya Temple, Beira Lake, Independence Memorial Hall, and Galle Face Green; are some of the places we will visit. A direct trip from Bandaranaike International Airport to Colombo typically takes 1 hour and 10 minutes, and you will stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 2 – Colombo: Kandy

After breakfast at the hotel in Colombo, we will start our trip to Kandy. On our way, we will visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Located near the Maha Oya River, this is a sanctuary for injured and abandoned wild elephant calves found around Sri Lanka. Over the years it has developed a successful breeding program, and you can see these majestic animals bathing in the river every morning.

Our next stop will be at Spice and Herbal Garden. Production of spices is an important industry in Sri Lanka, and the island has traded them for centuries with the rest of the world. According to legends, even biblical King Solomon used Sri Lankan spices. Here you can learn about many of the local spices, and about the most prominent among them, the true cinnamon.

After we arrive in Kandy, we will attend the Kandyan Dance Show. Starting at 4 pm, it showcases the traditional Sri Lankan dances, which developed over centuries from religious rituals and as an art form of celebrating historical events and nature. If the time allows it, we will also visit the Gem Museum, traditional Wood Carving Factory, and a Batik cloth factory. A direct trip from Negombo to Kandy typically takes 3 hours and 30 minutes, and you will stay overnight at the Hotel on the Half Board basis, with dinner and breakfast.

Day 3 – Kandy: Nuwaraeliya

After breakfast at the hotel in Kandy, we will get on the road to Nuwara Eliya. The first place we will visit is the Royal Botanic Garden, in the Peradeniya suburb of Kandy. Built where once the royal palace gardens of one of the first Kandyan kings stood, these gardens boast with more than 4,000 different plant species.

Continuing on our way, we will visit Tea Factory, where on a guided tour you can learn about the history and process of production of some of the best tea in the world.  We will also make a stop in the town of Ramboda, where the Ramboda Ella is located. This tiered waterfall is 109 meters high,which makes it the 11th tallest in Sri Lanka.

Nuwara Eliya is located high in the mountainous region of Sri Lanka, where the temperate climate is suitable for producing vegetables and fruits more common for continental Europe. We will visit Strawberry Farm, where you can sample the most fragrant strawberries in Sri Lanka. After we arrive in Nuwara Eliya, we will spend the afternoon on Lake Gregory. An artificial lake constructed in the late 19th century, since when it is a favored spot for leisure. The most popular activities are trout fishing and boat rides. A direct trip from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya typically takes 2 hours and 10 minutes, and you will stay overnight at the hotel on the Half Board basis, with dinner and breakfast included in price.

Day 4 – Nuwaraeliya:Bentota 

Our day will start early in the morning. Breakfast is provided in the form of a takeaway in the Horton Plains National Park. Early in the morning, we will visit the Horton Plains National Park. This nature reserve is located on a plateau at range between 2,100 and 2,300 meters above the sea level. A very popular hiking spot is the World’s End, a sheer precipice that rises around 1,200 meters above the valley which is most of the day obscured by mists that set in the morning.

Continuing on our way, we will visit the St. Clair’s Falls, known as the Little Niagara of Sri Lanka, and Devon Falls often called the Veil of the Valley. 

After arriving in Bentota, we will spend time on Leisure. Bentota is one of the prime beach resort towns in Sri Lanka and offers a wide variety of beach activities to visitors. From snorkeling and scuba diving in its crystal-clear waters to riding the wave in any manner imaginable, on a surfboard, jet ski, a banana boat, or even inflatable sofa. A direct trip from Nuwara Eliya to Bentota typically takes 4 hours and 50 minutes, and you will stay overnight at hotel on the Half Board basis, with dinner and breakfast included in price.

Day 5 – Bentota: Airport

After breakfast at the hotel in Bentota, we will start the trip to Bandaranaike International Airport. The first stop on our way will be in Kosgoda, where we will experience a one-hour River Boat Safari in Madu Ganga River. This river snakes through a breathtaking marshy mangrove forest which is teeming with wildlife, particularly birds.

Continuing on our way to Bandaranaike International Airport, we will on an excursion through Colombo. We will visit the Old Fort area known for the splendid colonial-era architecture, nearby is the Beira Lake and one of the most popular Buddhist temples in Colombo, the Gangaramaya Temple. Our sightseeing tour continues with a visit to the National Museum, and nearby Independence Memorial Hall, built at the spot where, in a special ceremony in 1948, was declared the independence of Sri Lanka. We will also spend time wandering the colorful streets of the historic neighborhood of Pettah, visiting the Old Dutch Hospital, a former colonial-era hospital which today functions as a modern shopping and dining district
